    trx450r tranny relation to 450X/R

    by Lumi » Thu Feb 01, 2007 2:56 pm

    hey guys i got a 2006 honda trx450r e-start...

i know alot of u guys for the tranny oil changes, put a whole bottle of honda hp tranny fluid or 32oz...

on my quad the level to put in is 23 oz or 0.68 L..

how much does ur owners manual says to put in, im pretty sure these engines are very similar and run the same twin sump system....

how would the extra oil give any problems to pressure in the case or cause any harm to the seal?

    thanks

Unless you are going to ride for a long period of time on a flat surface at high speed, you probably wont have a problem. But it does not hurt to ride with a full quart just to be on the safe side.

I heard that the 06 trx motor is the exact same motor as the 05 450x but do not quote me on that on 05 450 x engine oil is .74 w/oil filter .71 w/out and tranny is .69 hope that helps :D

I wouldnt worry about it, becasue its not my bike! Kidding aside dont be worried about overfilling the trans a bit, its fully vented, just make sure you completly drain the old oil first.
