Scotts Damper and ESP Suspension Revalve

    by Zanardi4 » Wed Jan 31, 2007 5:43 pm

Hey gang, I just dropped off my bike with George at ESP. He's going to revalve the front and rear, while also installing my new Scotts damper.

While he's at it, I'm also having him re-grease everything, like the steering head, swingarm, linkage, axles and rear chain adjustor.... 8)

George is very personable and you can tell he really values his customers and good word-of-mouth advertising.

I can't wait to ride it when its done. The wait is gonna kill me!! I'll report back after the first ride......

Yup you'll be happy to say the least.

DD, you really need to get your suspension done, it's a huge suspension and contrary to popular belief your fast enough you'll use it.

George just did PG's bike. We are very happy with his service and professionalism. He truly wants the bike to be right and you to be satisfied.

George at ESP lowered, resprung and revalved my 450X and revalved my sons R and we have had big smiles ever since. Not only are they safer to ride but also easier and alot less strenuous.

Yeah! All these happy customers is exactly why I went to them! And they're a LOT closer than the other guys to boot. :)

Agent, I mentioned you to George, but he only knows your real name and I only know your screen name here. LOL!

Slick, I showed George a pic of your Scotts setup with the stock bars and told him "I want that!" :D

Quick question for you, how tall are you and how much lower did you make the bike?

5.9kg on the doorstep when I arrived at the house....I wonder If I will be able to tell any difference in the ride, I mean it's not a full on re-valve, but it might make a big difference.

I always love it when a guys says "I wont be able to ship until tomorrow (Thurs)" and low and behold it ARRIVES the very next day (thurs)....THANKS George!!

Not sure if your spring is for the front or the rear, but you may want to try upping your fluid in the forks. The 370cc seems to work out pretty good even for the CRF450R. From what I've read more fluid means more resistance to bottoming.

You can bet it will, you're going to be happy with it DD.
Even just changing to new fork and shock oil will be very surprising, you can feel it right away.
The first thing you notice that will really surprise you is:
The ride wlll be a lot more plush, because you're getting open coils to soak up the terrain instead of having to deal with several collapsed ones right at the beginning of the fargin' stroke. It's the same deal with the fork springs-'Hey,it's SOFTER !"
It's great to be able to feel what the bike feels like for the 160 lb guys the suspension is usually set -up for.
It's nice too to be able to set-up your 3 and a 1/2" sag (what worked for me any anyway),without coming anywhere near minimum spring length.
You sound really jazzed to get the goodies, let's hear how you like's it ! :P Doug
