I believe it attaches to the linkage under the black cover on the side of the carb. If you haven't done the AP mod with the o-rings, now would be a good time.

Forget the AP cover, wastes a hundy like no other. Just do the o-ring mod. That's all it needs.
PM me with your e-mail and I'll send you the whole mod on PDF. You can just buy the o-ring. I'll send you the size.

Those pics of the idle screw look just like mine.
I bet it took a lot of turns to adjust the idle a small amount, I never understood why each turn of the screw didn't adjust the idle until it twisted off

Mine Would twist maybe a 1\4 of a turn before it adjusted!!!! The spring seems to be the weak link! I thinking of brazing a cable on it "
OFG Style "instead!! I'll see if it'll work when i tear it apart today!!!

I've noticed on my bike turning the idle screw appears not to be doing anything. My bike suffers from the "hanging idle" therefore I cant notice a difference until I put it in gear and release the clutch a bit to get rid of the hanging idle. somthing to do with the slow jet I think, frustrating as hell......
Also a little lubrication on the carb end of that cable makes it much easier to turn!
