    Battery Question

    by PhilM » Mon Jan 22, 2007 8:51 am

Has anyone found a good battery? I really tax my battery. Its almost to the point of not keeping a charge. I need to have my stator rewound, so that will help, but I was wondering if there was a better battery besides stock.

    Thanks.

I'm looking for one also. You can find one here http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product ... ts_id/1150 but I think this is the same thing http://www.another site.com/offroad/oem.ph ... &year=2005

    Ken, is this possible?

I was thinking about this on the weekend and i cant understand why quite a few people have trouble with the battery charge. I have an 05 450X and i have NEVER had to charge the battery. There have been plenty of times when i have been stop start stop start and the thing still cranks over. In fact i cant recall the last time i used the kick start, i think i used it once just to see if it was actually connected to anything.

Maybe I have a SUPER BATTERY. And it cant be that the aussie version gets a better battery as guys over here also complain. Any thoughts anyone?

Actually, just thought of something. As part of ADR over here the headlight has to be burning anytime the engine is running, is that the same for the US bikes?

i know i quickly burned out my stock battery but and put in the yuasa that we offer in our catalog and with the yuasa battery conditioner haven't had a battery related issue since. i don't think you'll find a stronger or better quality battery.

Mines on it's last leg... It got cold out and it was done for. I charged it all week but it's just not the same as it once was.

I was wondering that. The 250's battery is still in good shape. Mine on the other hand as been abused very badly. I added a set of 35 watt driving lights from Kragen to enhance my night lighting. They are straight off the battery with a switch, plus the turn signals it really put the hurt on my battery. It gets a tender most of the time, but its a gonner.

Stock it worked fine. Not much to ponder there.

    Ken,

    Thanks for that input.

My original 05 battery was useless from the dealer and it was replaced under" warranty" but that one was not much better. Without a tender I think I would be kicking 1/2 of the time. I ride with a KTM 525 it has never been kick started or used a tender , ever

Hey I'm new here. I wanted to tell you that my neighbor gave me a nicad battery that he makes. I put it in my 05 250X and he gave my dad one for his 450X. They work great. We've had them for months. We ride almost every weekend. Trails mostly.Check it out. www.ebattonline.com.
