I have had one for about 6 months and its held up real well despite crashing on that side many times and going through at least 3 grips on that side. I can't tell how it works with handguards because I dont use them.

I have discovered the Moose clamp on grips. They are molded on to the throttle tube and a tube for the clutch side. For $20 you get both grips. Best part they don't slip. No more glue, hairspray, spray paint or what ever you hold them on with. $20 for the grips molded onto throttle tube seems pretty cheap to me.

Ken should be able to get them for you also.

The Moose ones look like a good buy. I 've gotten attached to Progrip 793's though. That's just a personal thing though like so many other things.
That STR tube Ken sells here is really well made, and comes with an end that snaps in and out so it works great whether you use hand guards or not. Doug

Thanks Paul That looks like a good one and not as expensive as the twister. I knew we could count on you.

ODI makes the Moose grips. I run the ODI grips and like them O.K. They are a tad bulky, but they are comfortable. I would probably go with a full diamond grip next time, but the lock-on style installation, and the integrated grip is flawless, and the ends are open so they accept handguards like they were made for them. Here are a couple of pics.

we carry the moose throttle tube as well. here's a link:

    http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product ... ts_id/1878

pro taper has stopped making the handguard insert for the twister throttle tube. not really sure why as it worked well. as a result this makes the twister throttle tube not compatible with bar end mounted handguards.

i should also mention the STR and Moose open end throttle tubes are very different aside from the open end and being made from billet aluminum. the STR has teflon bushings inside at each end. The STR also comes with an end cap should you ever want a standard throttle tube. this is the reason for the higher price over the moose tube.

    .

That's why I like it, it is VERY smooth,no slop at all. Doug
