    Thanks Guys

    by No. 9 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 12:33 pm

Thanks for the help in the JD jet kit, air box opening and tweak assistance. I had the X out over this weekend and it had soooo much new found pop that I was even a little nervous to hit it at times but I did throw caution to the wind and had a great time. I am thankfull for all who chimed in on the age old questions that I have posted. This was the cheapest and best mod I could have done for this bike yet. Even the kid brother said it was scary fast with more pep. So much fun to have the machine running so well. :D :D

Just a friendly FYI. There is a typo in your sig line. "Acerbis" is misspelled.

Proof you don't have to spell to twist a throttle but it does help on the resume that gets you the job which allows you to earn the money with which bought your X and I mean the Honda and not your prior wife. Man this web site is vicious, cut throat and yet, for some odd reason, I likes it.  :?

the JD kit was a quick install (half an hour) after you remove all the plastics. have a hemostat or small needle nose pliers for the needle and I would recommend a set of t handled allen wrenches. If you are doing the jets also open the air box up. It is a little more time but oh so worth it. I had some popping on the deceleration after the install but was given advice to turn air screw to 2 turns and it was gone. Dont hesitate on this mod.

great review on the jd jetting kit. plug and play power and response.

ivan...we have a how-to that will help you with each step of replacing the needle and jets.

Possibly a stupid question, but I'm sure someone will have the answer. All the increased power after you wake the bike up with the JD kit and the air box mods...how does all this factor in on tight single track with switchbacks? does the power increase help or hamper in situations like this??
If it ain't broke...fix it till it is!!
