~ question about White Plastics

I just did the White plastics , and i noticed that the airbox door piece doesn't quite seal at the bottom! , is yours the same?? , on mine it seems the number plate part (not the door itself)is slightly flatter across the bottom of the door than the stock panel, i tried heating it but it didn't do any good and if yours was flat were u able to remedy it, as looking at your pics(don't know how long ago u took the pics) it seems yours is gapped at the bottom as well , was wondering if your having a problem with excessive dirt getting in , *my worry once its warm enough to ride here again,(its like 24deg for the high here right now) and there is dirt and dust instead of snow*

The door doesn't fit really tight. The plastics kit came with a door but I decided to leave the stocker on.

I can't see it letting in more dirt than opening the airbox would and I gladly cut that sucker up.

Not something that bothers me. I clean my filters well and often and use sealing grease liberally.

When I replaced my 'trap door' with Black plastics I took five or six small spring clamps and siliconed the new door to the pegs on the old bracket. It closes now with an extremely small amount of space...

All the other pieces fit like OEM. I bet if I cared enough to change that door, it would fit better. But alas, I don't.

The Acerbis on the 250X fit much better in relation to the door.

OK well that was my concern , i know u ride in fairly dusty areas sometimes , so if it doesn't seem to be hurting anything, i won't worry too much about it, as i clean my filter and entire bike after every ride anyway,

but i was worried about some of the 40+ mile rides we do that can get pretty dusty ,and i didn't want any problems resulting from the gap at the bottom of the door ! but since i wont be riding for another month or so , i was going to tear the bike down and grease everything(swingarm , head bearings etc) after i get it back from my buddies ,next week( he's re-upholsering my seat and needed the bike to get the pattern to match the lines of the bike) , but i wanted to find out if the door fit was a problem to be concerned with ! and if there was a fix for it , i figured if anyone had done anything about it, it would be you!

*i wonder if they are going to remedy that problem? like you put it, the rest of the parts fit fine , just the sideplate is off a little*

Thanks for the info , i quess it wasn't as big a deal as i thought !

Oh ! almost forgot !, u said the kit came with the DOOR, are u referring to the replacement white panel that mounts to the door, or did yours come with the entire door?? , as mine only came with the replacement white panel that goes on the door , i swapped that , but it has no effect on the door fit !

My bad. Replacement white panel, not the whole door.
