They are both excellent stabilizers.

main diferences:

Scotts-Adjustable High speed, adjustable low speed, adjustable break - only dampen center out.

GPR - adjustable low speed - dampen both ways.

Bottom line - both work well for their intended uses.
If you like to fidget with stuff, Scotts has more stuff to fidget with. If you are a set it and forget it guy, the GPR doesn't charge you for stuff you'll never use.

All true, except the dampen both ways on the GPR part.. I've said this here many times. I own a V2 and a V3; they EACH dampen center out, ONLY.

Thanks guys,

on another note, When you guys mod the air box do you put inserts in the holes you've created to keep the dirt to a minimum. I have noticed a few inserts on site.

thanks again

Jeff.

What do you mean center out.

Thanks

I researched them both before making my decision and the guys at the Scotts facility in Montrose edumacated me.

The GPR's have a progressive damping back toward the center.

Which means if you turn the bars all the way to one side, they will dampen with a constant force until the "sweep breaks", which means the damping action is turned off.

The Scotts will return back to center with no force being applied by the damper.

The GPR will return back to center with minimal force until it progressively builds the pressure back to full.

OK, Let me get this straight, I adjust the unit to whatever setting i want, then depending on which unit i decide to go with as i am returning the bars to center I will feel some dampening with the GPR and no dampening with the scotts. Is there any force or resistance when returning the bars to center?

Um most guys here have very little left in the way of an airbox, mine just holds the plastics in place.

Oh I run a Scotts by the way.

That is my understanding. However, I only have the Scotts. I have never ridden with the GPR.

Nowazzu has experience with the GPR and he says it has no dampening back to center. I will defer to him on this.

Thanks AS,
I appreciate your knowledge

I may have some pics in a few as I start the mods. One more question and I'll leave you guys alone. I have a couple of ttr125's I bought them for my boys for christmas. (I Know I really screwed up there I wish I would have bought CRF's for them but it's their first bike and I didn't want to kill them yet.) Anyway 1 of them has a real stiff throttle all the sudden, any ideas on where to start? It seems to move but it is really stiff and it is really slow to return to idle position.

Don't crucify me for asking about a yamaha on this post. Unless you really want to.

Thanks

Did your boys crash the one with the stiff throttle??

Maybe pressed the tube against the end of the bar?

Got dirt in it?

PM Dobent4@yahoo, he is the resident ttr 125 expert around these parts.

Just don't show your boys the pics of his wife's tricked out ttr 125.

That mistake could cost you alot...
