http://picasa.google.com/

It's by google, it's free and very easy to use and does a good job of making your pictures look good. Plus it's integrated with e-mail ordering pictures blogging, etc...

I just used it for the first time and love it. Much easier than screwing around in photoshop. I know they have some Adobe programs out there, but I'm very impressed with it.

Smash, I have a Gmail acct. and also use Picasa. I don't think you can use it to host pics like Photobucket though. If you can, I haven't figured it out. I can't believe how many features the Gmail acct. offers. You can do word docs, spreadsheets, store all of your photos, and it also has a really neat calendar. I believe it gives you almost 3000 mb of space to store stuff. Ernie

You can host your photos through Picasaweb. I've been using Picasa since it came out. I love it.

Check out http://picasaweb.google.com for the hosting stuff. You set up an account and then when you click on the web icon in Picasa, you use that user ID and password.

nowazzu, I was able to copy link location for this pic, but how do you make it appear as a picture instead of a link to a picture? Ernie

Right click on the photo and select properties to get the photo details. Copy the URL into the post. Include everything from http to .jpg. It's not as slick as Photobucket, but it works and you only have to host on one site. I'm sure it's by design that they don't offer the link info. They're probably not set up to handle the load like Photobucket just yet.

This is the URL to the photo below... but I added the [img] tags.

Can you see my image? I get a security error when I click on yours. You also need to add the opening [img]tag%20at%20the%20front%20and%20the%20closing[/img] tag at the end...

How do you ad the IMG tags so it will appear on the site? My half assed attempt obviously failed!

You can manually add it, or use the IMG button on the tool menu above. Click on it and you will see the tag [img]where%20your%20cursor%20is.%20Paste%20in%20your%20link%20and%20then%20add%20the%20closing%20tag[/img] or click on "close tags".

I just ate dinner and had another beer...Low and behold I can see it now! I guess that beer was exactly what I needed.
