There might be 1 or 2 guys here who have done it... :?

Here's the how-to for the sides. Search here for the top. There should be about 6000 posts on it.

I have mine done per the Honda closed course spec. I can only find this one pic though. I think Mr. Smith has a pic of the top section cut out.

I did mine per the bulletin!*sort of* , works great, only difference is i used the Stock X header(instead of R) and the R pipe/muffler (instead of gutted stock), and put the Pink Wire on a toggle switch , and didnt change to the R cam(didn't really need to , plenty of power with stock cam, and only real diff from R cam is a little less lift, and more duration*cam stays open longer on X cam*), , VERY noticable difference in overall power from low to top end, also with the pink wire its way more responsive *kind of like the R*

What exactly are u wanting to know about??

Yes,throw us a bone.
All we can figure on the pink wire is it increases cut-off for the rev-limiter 500 rpms for sure, and maybe something to the advance to mirror the R, but nobody is really certain.
Your airbox has fairly obvious lines molded into the top of it to show you just where to cut it. Somewhere on the JD Jetting web site there are several really good pictures of a 450X airbox opened to CCC specs.
I sure hope you haven't done all these mods that are feeding your engine a lot more air without changing the jetting ,because at best it'll run like crap,at worst you'll cook your motor in a hurry.
So, we're glad to help but "need info" :D Doug

PowerNow and PowerNowPluse

Interesting. Quite a few of us have tried them in before and afters, etc.,and could feel absolutely nothing.
I rode a RMZ-450 with both back to back with my buddies RMZ and could feel absolutely nothing different, nothing. Some of the mags mention they do this or that, but some guys here will tell you that's not what they felt-which was nothing.
We'l have to see what you think when you ride a properly jetted and uncorked 450X and compare them. Doug

Winkel11, PM (private message) with your email address and I will send you the Honda dealer document for the air box mod. I think it has three photos and is very helpful.
The pink wire issue is also on this document.
The pink wire mod will give you a little fast rev up and about 500 more rpm's at top end if you want it.
I use the faster rev up answer and don't need 11,500 + RPM's.
