NW Weather and a good first ride for 2007

Saturday morning I loaded the kids and skis up for what should have been a snowy day with a foot plus of fresh snow. We got within 15 miles of the resort to be stopped by trees down with major powerlines down across the road and a predicted 6 hr wait. I headed home. Within an hour had the skis unloaded with my boys and the bikes in tow were headed out to ride in the woods North of Seattle.
Typical Mud
Sweet Wheelie
Getting out of the soup
A dark day in the woods
Typical Single Track
Nope, this isn't SoCal (who put the creek here?)
Two hours of rinding, six hours of cleaning, Priceless

I can relate to that!!! I usually spend more time cleaning up after winter rides than actually riding!!

There just comes a time when you look at your bike in the garage and absolutely refuse to wait another day to ride!! Good for you! Those dark woods you refer to are why I go back to the headlight in the winter.

...probably a good idea, but the hose and nozzle cost considerably less! I get my bike back to showroom condition between rides.

GiantX, do you run a plate without a headlight in the summer?

Great pics.I was begining to think no one ever got their bikes dirty over there.
All other pics are of dust and hard pack trails.Your pics show very similar terrain to what we ride down here.
Talk about mud just ask anyone who competed in the ISDE here a couple of months ago.
All good fun though!
Good to see your boys out there doing it too.Slippery muddy rides are great practice for bike control and balance.

Yep it's the only way to go. I can clean 3 bikes in the time I took to do one.

Man I sure wish I was able to ride with you guys. That;s the kind of riding I love. I guess you're not using a old tire on that stuff. Thanks for the great pictures.
