I have a 06 450x. I recently istalled a RK GB520EXW gold X-ring chain. Now I have been talking on other forums about gearing changes and someone said to not use x-ring with a 14 tooth front sprocket for it will rub on cases? How about if you are still running the stock 13 gear (I am)? Little concerned cause I have had it on there for a bit now, is my case safe???

Is it rubbing? If not, then relax.

I am still using my stock chain over 3000 miles later, I hope you didnt replace your stocker with that RK thinking it was a better chain, because it is not.

DID makes the best chains, the Narrow T-ring found stock on the X is one of the best they make.

Exactly what the DD says, a lot of people do that I bet because they are under the mistaken impression stock chains are junk, and I think that maybe the D.I.D. T-ring is the best chain, or certainly one of the best, chains you can buy . They sure aren't cheap.
Suzuki by the way now has an o-ring standard on their RMZ motocross bike. You'll see more of that, because anyone that thinks they can feel a 'loss of power' on a modern 450 thumper because they're using a good T,O,or X ring chain is hallucinating
Now the chain that comes on the R is junk, but not the T-ring that comes on the X-that's a top shelf chain.
I bought the gold D.I.D. t-ring from Ken a long time ago, for when my stocker "wore out"on the X, and it never did !
After 3 adjustments in 3 hours the stock R chain was yanked and the new T-ring went on. Doug

OK, I got the fastway counter shaft spacer...is there any trick to installation or do you just pop off the front sprocket and slide it on the shaft??

And you said that without suggesting a JD kit! :P

Yup, the stock chains are pretty darn good I hear.

Not to change the subject too much, anyone notice the chain slack spec on the sticker on the swingarm is different than the manual?
