I agree DD if you don't have a shop you trust then you have no other choice.
AS you didn't take it to SC Motorsports did you? If you did I will be there today and rip their rear.....

I feel for you Paul. The bitch of it is when I finally get the freakin tire mounted I am so relieved and worn out and bloody I cant remember what little thing I did to finally get the tire on. The pride of mounting your own tires sometimes does not outweigh the pain, frustration and suffering it took to do it. It doesnt matter if its 90 degrees or 40 degrees in my shop when I start the process I always end up dripping in sweat. If its a back tire I now let the shop do it.

    Nope,

It was another shop in town. Generally good guys. I just went there to show them the tube they put in. That is their HD tube...

I pulled out the MSR Ultra HD and told them that this is a HD tube. They thought it was overkill.

    I agreed.

Overkill is what I am looking for.

    F in a Bubba!

Spodes probably thing adding slime is "overkill" too.....anything you can do to not get a flat on a ride is a good idea, it is a pain in the rear and takes time from everyone else.

HD tubes with slime (or my favorite "Tru Goo") & desert tires should be on any bike ridden off-road. If you just ride tracks thats a different story.

Now I am sitting here wondering where there's an F in a Bubba when I realize you were going for F'ln A Bubba!

I guess I am slow today or DD's shorthand is getting more vague! Better, to not be deleted.

    This may get deleted...

It's the kinder gentler DD.....a few rides and some time off will do that.

I put in a Maxxis HD, but I agree, especially when you are miles from the truck, overkill is just right....

Jeezus, I was thinking maybe the 739AT was what I should mount up before coming out there in October.
I try to avoid mounting tires, ever.
Like the DD said , It's a different ball game changing a tube and mounting a brand new tire. Maybe I'll get the 739's and tire balls, and pay to have them mounted of course.
High School guys are great to have around. A few years ago we were at a MX track that has a great Vet class, and I got a rear flat, and to boot the tire was torn.
Next to us these kids were making short work of a rear flat on a 250F, and while I started yanking the wheel they half joking said "we'll do it for 10 bucks". I'd over heard the poor kids getting change together for the refreshmenrt stand, so I said go for it. Heck they probably were breaking the piggy bank for their entry fees.
Well they wouldn't take the money. I told them if they didn't I'd burn the money on the spot. They got 20.

Go on ebay and sell those tire irons or give them away. If you don't put them in the trash. If you're out riding, ride it back flat. When you get home take it to Pit Pro's for $10 and have them mount it. I used every word in the book when I changed my tire last time. I think I lost about 15 pounds doing it.
