Why would any of you pussies need a skid plate?

    He said "pussies".
You boys sure do ride in the rocks, I've seen the photos.
Man, I'd sure trade you some mud for rocks and warm weather.
Tommorow it'll be almost 60 here so I get to go riding !
We've had no precipitation in 4 days, temps upper 50's, in December !
Next week, maybe single digits.Sigh. Doug

There is one trail that we ride that is so rocky that you almost have to idle through it and is a pain in the azz to try and work your way down it. It beats you up so much that it takes all the fun out of it. As if that's not bad enough, it dead ends after a few miles and you have to turn around and then ride back up it, now that's an experienence you'll never forget. The guy that likes this trail feels it makes us better riders in some sort of way. The last time I rode it I went down and had my bad knee twisted azz-backward with my bike on top of it and with my weight on the bike, so I couldn't get out from under it. I was literally stuck, and since I was riding follow up on that trail everyone else was in front of me, so it took me about fifteen minutes of wiggling back and forth before I could work myself loose. I hate that trail, but I still end up riding it.......

Well, tell him riding standing on your head may make you a better rider too.
I like a good challenging ride too, but if it's no fun and too"extreme" I'm not into it.
Some guys like that "tight single track" stuff so nasty you've got oto be wiggling the bars constantly to get through trees. God bless 'em but I couldn't be less interested, Doug

I hear you, but he rides all the stuff I want to ride and never complains if it's out of his comfort zone. Besides, of all my friends he is the only one that is always up to go riding.......

I myself am in the market for A skidplate and after looking at some of the pics in this thread,I think for me it will be either WB or Flatlands. The thing for me is although the Works looks awsom theres just not much room for impact/what I mean is that it hugs so tight and is such an exact fit that if you hit something hard enough to bend or dent it theres nowhere for it to go except into what its protecting.
The other two will give and even bend A little before letting anything get damaged(the doublewalled truckbed effect)IMO.....(not sure how good I explained it but hopefully you get the picture)

    SLICK...

Doug, if the Flatland is so rugged how come Cheez can makes modifications with a pair of pliers?

    Good point ! :D
Hey CB, I'm going down to the beautiful state of Tennessee first week of March, we'll see who wipes what off their noses bud :D
All I said about the Flatlands negative is that it;s ugly as hell boys, and it is.
A shovel with brackets on will do the job too, so if looks don't matter to you they don't matter.
They do to me ! Doug

Hey, I guess I'm there dougie boy, barring some last minute family crisis like last time. (Lets not talk about my luck). You guys will have to give me a break, I can't ride fast for long periods of time with only one leg. But if I take breaks, I can ride all day. I can't walk the next day, but we have to prioritize!

No, I mean a serious design flaw was corrected...

Well, I am glad Flatland took care of that, it's the sign of a good company that will listen to their customers and strive to make their products better! :D

Yep...Me and Raptor were in touch with Flatland (along with Ken) and they did good. The problem was with the '06 450R (not the X.) Honda decided to tilt the engine a little more and that made the Flatland fit like crap. Anyway, they came through (again...along with Ken) and made it right. Great product! Now I have to by one for my rolling pumpkin! That's right...go ORANGE! (Man...that just didn't sound right!?)

I use Moose skid plates as they are a lot tougher than any of the others I have seen out there. They have saved the underside and corners of my engines numerous times - I highly reccomend these

    CRF50
    CR250R
    XLCR - Rare Cafe Racer

Everyone knows that "moose" products are really made by White Tailed Deer, and thus not really as tough as one would expect a true "moose" product to be. Just ask Dust Devil.

J/K. I've never had a bad Moose product period. Whoever made it for them probably did a great job.
