maybe add a skidplate.... I know you have another month or two of winter paychecks to spend!

I've been thinking about that, that would probably look pretty cool. I like his angle grinder idea.
That's the cleanest chain I've seen that wasn't in a box!!!

That chain has about 12 plus hours on it, including being submerged in mud at least 3 times. It's the D.I.D. VT T-ring,just like an O.E.M. 450 X chain but gold. I just carefully pressure wash the chain, then hit it with the Grunge brush and cleaner, dry it with compressed air ,then the excellent crystal clear Maxima chain lube DD turned me on to.I have to have my bikes spotless at all times if I'm not riding, and the winter is the time for bling and blang, besides you jokers and a little indoor MX it's my only contact with the sport in the dead of winter.
Even during Spring,Summer and Fall tanks, seats, side covers come off and I go at it after each ride. The plurals there are because I also take care of the wifes and daughters scooters and my BMW are all kept up the same way. I like doing the cleaning and mainteance,to me it's very relaxing and enjoyable, it's peaceful ! :D

    Bling

    Doug,

First off, thanks for the pics. Very colorful and nice looking bike  . Now when I wonder what my bike will look like with a few pieces here and there, I can just look at yours. That being said, I am sure now more than ever that I don't want to go as far as you did. No disrespect intended, just not my style as I have discovered. I know you said you have to run the blue backgrounds, and I feel for you. That really makes the bike clash, IMHO. Second, I don't like the red clutch cover. Just stands out too much for me. I do like the red hoses idea though, may just have to do that one when I get the money. I was wondering though if you were planning on getting red rims and red tires to complete your bike? I honestly don't know what else you could buy red to put on there. And yes, the Bailey/Johnson graphics are very nice looking, I like mine as well, even if it is orange 8) . Very did you get the graphics done at?

I recall that Bailey also ran blue backgrounds, only with a yellow number 1 to signify he was the AMA Grand National Champion. 8)

    Fine Blingmanship on your part.

Yes, and the kit came with a front number plate just like that. However, I am not running it. I didn't like how it looked on the bike and I am no where good enough to run the number one on my bike at any time!

Are you allowed to run yellow numbers if you wanted to, Doug?

Yes, and I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it. I was looking at some pictures of the WORCS bikes, and it looks like that's what the Pro Class in WORCS run those, and I think they look pretty darn good regardless of what brand the bike is.
Of course, then from a distance anyone watching might think I'm a WORCS Pro, which would be embarassing when they see that I am hardly a freakin' WORCS pro !
Last year in my district the 40-49 year old vets had to have red plates with contrasting numbers which I had on my X, which would have worked out fine. Doug
