I'm a cheap rear also. I can't see putting a tire in the trash that still is good. I'm still running the stock front. I can't see spending $60 or $70 on a new tire when I need so many other things for my bike. I sure wish money grew on trees around here. By the time I pay all of the bills at the end of the month it just doesn't leave me enought to buy the toys I want. I guess I should go and get a extra jobs for that.

I was the same way. As much as I so badly wanted to change the stock (742)front tire, I could not bring myself to do it until I had worn it out. But now that I have changed it, I think back wishing I did it sooner.

Yup! And with a crappy 742, I'm not even really "all show" just "no go".

Tire is important, but YOU need suspension!

    Joe

HOW is that gonna make my bike prettier?? You can't even see the valves or the shim stack????

We did PG's suspension first. I'll do mine next.

I'm a lock on the Saturday night LOTTO...

Your not looking at it properly. So let me help you spend your money....

Nothing looks better than brand new tires with nipples. A new front tire with nice square edges and that new black look out does a used rounded "tire magic" tire anyday.

As for suspension, you just need to get the fork legs coated and get your suspension tuners stickers. That'll make it look way prettier.

They just had a after new year sale on them a few weeks ago. I think they were something like $54. I should have got a few.

I changed my 742 after it put me on my rear a couple of times. The front end would wash like I was running a slick.
