    Here's some revenge:

I pull into Hollister Hills. It's Spring 1998 and there's a new WR400 in the truck...N/A in Cali 'cause Yamaha decided NOT to bring it in in '98 (It had an Oregon Tag...to my name...a Cali-resident...trick answer, tho...)

Wannabe Ranger Kid at Gate w/ Attitude and Wannabe Cop-Syndrom:

"Uh, you can't have an Oregon plate if you're not from Oregon."

"Kid, I'm only gonna go thru this once - I've got a home and a business in Oregon, it's registered there 'cause it spends most of it's time there; infact, it'll be here for -3- days. Becareful, son. This ain't my 1st Rodeo."(Show'd him Portland Biz-card and Yamaha MSO and Oregon MFG plate...)

Kid: "I can have DMV come and take it."

"Kid, you've stepped in it, now. You can have the C-H-P come and take it! Better, yet, I can have your Boss come and take you over his knee for bein' so ignorant, infact..."(Pull the ol' phone right of the recv'r in their lil' 'office' and hit the buttons...get their boss on the phone, "Jared", and start talkin' to my bud, their Boss...kid starts to turn F'n WHITE...pale-azz-rider WHITE!)

I hand the phone to the Wannabe...Kid talks to Jared on the phone and hangs-up. Seems my name is "Sir", now.

    Here's the deal:

If you are legal, and you've got the time, straighten their azzez OUT!

I've done it a few times.

    Priceless.

    Rangers with the speed guns!!

    by stanz12 » Tue Jan 16, 2007 4:58 pm

A few weeks ago my brother, father and I spent the day riding at Hollister.

The 3 of us were heading down one of the trails and as we come around a bend my brother is waving his left arm gesturing "slow down". As I'm slowing down I look up in the distance the ranger is sitting in the driver seat of the SUV with the radar gun pointed at us..

I almost . my pants!! I never thought I'd see this but there I was in the midst of it!

As we returned we seen that he had 2 bikes pulled over and looked as if he was writing up citations!

Well Carnegie has been very crowded lately. I went for new years and then the following weekend both days and one weekend there were 4 ambulances. the next weekend 2 weeks ago I saw 6 ambulances and one kid got lifeflighted out in the helicopter.. and I saw a guy and a girl go head on into each other on 250x's... luckily there were going slow and were uninjured.. They need to regulate things a little more there I just hope they don't check m bike I removed everything again=)

forgot to add-- for the most part the rangers are always cool there to me and have only hassled me once... Once though this guy's wife went off the side of los osos on her quad and completely totalled the quad it was down on the lower ridge trail with four flat tires.. the ranger said he couldn't get down there to pull us out on his quad..WHat.,,, he loaned us his tow rope so a kid on a Yamaha raptor400 I beleive so 4 of us towed out the totalled Can Am quad,,,

Well here is my latest ranger story. a few weeks back we did a ride in Gordon's Well dunes in Cali. during the night everyone went to sleep except for me. i sat by the fire. just minutes before i was about to go to bed the 4 ranger SUVs surrounded the campsite. i stood up and walked over to one of the cars and the ranger said he didnt see me sitting there at first but were getting ready to wake everyone up because we had an unattended fire. there were no flames on the fire. just coals. they werent a-holes to me though. actually very nice.
i guess they are just doing their jobs. in a way i kind of think it was a good thing they were stopping camp to camp. lets the losers know that the rangers are there and they patrol the area.
the campfire had to be an excuse to check us out because we camped in the middle of sand with no flamable brush for miles.
