The 1098 is one hellova twin. I knew I kept my AGV Rossi MotoGP replica helmet for a reason. I'm sorry that I sold all my other "knee draggin'" Alpinestars riding gear on Ebay after selling my tricked out 600RR. While visiting mom this weekend in Santa Barbara, CA, I put a deposit on 1098. It'll arrive in March. I have between now and then to change my mind. Or, sell my 65 Shelby clone to pay for the Duc.

When I walked into Pro Italia in Santa Barbara, all the talk was about the 1098, of course. Guys wanting to get rid of their 999Rs. Pro Italia was allotted x number of the base, the S, and the limited tri-color S. The first question I asked was "Are you guys marking these things up???" "Nope." They were selling them at MSRP, $15K for the base model. Whew, what a big chunk out of my daughter's college fund!! I would really have to sell my 65 Shelby clone (as the boss wife says). They already sold ALL their allotted tri-colored S and S versions. They had 6 base versions left when I walked out.
