Bought new in Oct/05 and have 650Km on it. Unable to ride in Dec ( didn't set up with ice studs) but we are having a strange winter - in the past 2 weeks all of the snow is gone with lots of rain and today is 12 degrees :D
    Can't wait for the weekend!!

and 12 degrees is .... good

HaHa - ya 12 celsius is great. Damn metric...according to the conversion that would be 54 degrees and normally it would be about 14 degrees (Fahrenheit)

oh ya - that would be approximately 400 miles too ;)

Don't know how many miles exactly. I do have 115 hours on the motor. It takes about 4-5 hours to do about 120 or so miles. Dont feel like doing the math right now.
Two wheels or four, I'm always in the dirt!!

Now I understand Dave :D I hadn't noticed the location of your post before. 54 degrees is definitely good riding weather!

BTW, say Hi to Ken and CRF's Only up there in Canada ... whoops, cross-posting.

Wow, its no wonder you guys aren't reporting valve problems yet, you don't ride them :D I use a Garmin GPS as my data miner and have logged 3654 miles to date, purchased the bike in April 2005. My average ride is 45-60 miles. New valves at 1600 miles if you want to mark you calander for budget planning, the rest of the machine is rock solid though.

Roady your mileage may vary, I rolled it out one morning and it would not start, that was the beginning of the end for my valves. I put in the S/S valves and spring kit and it is doing just fine now, Honda may have replaced the seats on this machine and apparently they do last longer than the R but they don't last as long as they should in my opinion. Honda should have put the S/S in the X like they do the 450 four wheelers, much more reliable.

    Falls a Lot:

What did you do to your valve seats when you replaced the valves? Replace them? regrind them? nothing?

The seats looked great, I lapped in the new valves with valve lapping compound and tested with Prussian blue, it was the valve face that was damaged (elongated).
