Well I popped in the '02 R cam. I can feel the increase in power over the '05 R cam. However, the '02 R cam feels 'rougher' (as one would expect from a more aggressive bump stick) and seems to make a bit more noise. Not sure I like it yet. Will ride the bike for a while before deciding if I'll keep it or swap the '05 R cam back in. The power is indeed pretty great.

Yea the bottom is definitely stronger than the others on the 02 , not sure what the noise is , mine sounds no different than my 450X (i am assuming at idle is where you are hearing the noise)

Yea the increased noise could just be my imagination. I'm mostly just noticing the slightly more ragged feel of the cam.

Oh, I was wondering what the holes in the intake lobes are for?

I noticed the '05 R cam has holes in both lobes, yet the '02 R cam (pictured) only has a hole in one lobe.

I honestly do not know the origin of the holes , i do know that the HotCams do not have them (at least that i remember , i have to take a look at mine sometime on my 450X) , .....beats me , i tried to research it , but came up with nothing....
