    No AP set screw?

    by mdtoney » Tue Aug 06, 2013 9:33 am

I tore it back apart and re-cleaned everything.
I verified the diaphragm was right-side up.
I removed the check valve from the bowl, and used the updated AP cover instead of my QS2 cover.

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but it starts really easily and seems to run good on the stand.

I noticed that my '07 doesn't have an AP set screw. Does the X not have this??

Like I said in my earlier post, '07 and newer don't have the adjustable screw. So no O-ring MOD needed. Although it does look a little dirty in there, I'd pull it apart and clean everything spotless.

I caught the part about no o-ring needed, but didn't realize it was only needed with the set screw.

There was lots of mud when I tore it apart. All clean now!

    Thanks again for your help!!

Hey, if you get to your wits end and don't want to deal with it anymore, you can send it to me and I can get it cleaned out and check all the passages for any potential problems. Just pay the postage both ways and if it needs any parts then you can just pay me back for them.

    If you need the help.
Really, I don't mind. Will take me about an hour to get it right. :D

Sorry, just re-read all your posts, if there is one spec of dirt in the AP circuit then you will not get a good squirt. It can be cleaned out with small gauge wire degreaser and some air. But don't get the degreaser on the slide plate/seal ring.

    Thanks for the offer crazybrother!

I'm going to go riding tomorrow and see how it feels.

If something still seems off I'll be contacting you!
