When I ordered mine, I specifically asked for X valves.

I would call them and tell them you have an X and they will send you the correct ones. I am only saying this as its been about 9 months since I did mine and do not have the part numbers anymore. They do fit and I again would recommend the spring/retainer package as well...

My brother got them installed on his X this week by a local shop. He picked up the bike today and the thing fires right up, no problem. We are riding on Saturday, so I am sure he is going to report back with the results.

A "weekend schmoe" rider is what I am. I am not pro, nor will I ever be. I just want to get better with every ride...

I wish I'd seen a post on here like that Phil, we would have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves sefending you .
Heck we're all weekenders, I mean, we had to buy 7000 dollar off-road bikes and don't you know we had to pay for them.
The whole squid thing p.o.'s me big time.I was reading Dirt Rider where one of their well known but arrogant testers referred to "squids riding with their elbows down, but the 450's still have enough power to clear every jump". Well if this tester showed up at a National or SX practice he'd be looking like the "squid",wouldn't he ?
The point is that we'e into this hobby for fun,it's great exercise,it's exhilirating, it's fun and rewarding to learn about our bikes and to maintain them, the camaraderie is awesome...Heck, I've had guys travel hundreds of miles coming to meet and ride with me,and I've done the same myself, people I've never met,and I'll be flyng and driving thousands of miles this fall to do met and ride with the West Coast crew ! These are people I trust with anything,we send each other stuff....just how cool is this ? Screw the peoplee who just don't get it. We get it. Doug
