It was not uncommon to go against traffic (in the wrong lane) to avoid stopping. Although I never had to hit another car to get them to move, if you stop you become a target. Self preservation is key. I have 3 kids, 2 step kids and a wife and I was going to come back home to see them, no matter what. The biggest thing that pisses me off is people passing judgement and stereotyping the soldiers, sailors and marines that are there. If you have not been in theirs or my shoes than you (proverbial) have no right. I think, like most here, that we need to support all the boys and girls over there and if you want to be mad at someone blame your voted representatives that put them there. Although I for one, being a career Army soldier support and defend their decision.
Hoo-Rah!!!!
If I were over there, I would be firing warning salvos for those "people" to move outta the way.
(yeah, I'm sure a court martial would be in my future)
The fact they were giving love taps, and blowing some horn shows their controlled nature.
I don't think I could show that restraint...
