I wouldnt buy a used 4 stroke, it's too easy for someone to not take proper care of it and then pawn it off on an unsuspecting person.

If I rode a 2 stroke, I would have had to do a top end several times by now, by the time I do have to do a piston/rings and eventually a valve job I bet the costs would even out or lean tward the 4 stroke being cheaper to operate.

Actually I saw a thread somewhere recently from a guy that kept track of his costs incurred over time for both 2 and 4 stroke and I think the 4 stroke came out costing a bit less in the end.

    Two excellent points.
I lit that idiot up at TT pretty good, I'm sure it'll get deleted in minutes,so here you go :

Don't buy any kind of Honda X.

I can't believe a clueless moron like you has a picture of Winston Churchill up there. Churchill wasn't a sheep, who resorted to making up lies about "inside connections"to validate his point.
Your made up short fiction about the "friend" who owns a Honda shop is funny, too. Hardly anyone who owns an X takes it to the dealership for anything, and you know and I know that to be the case.
For those sheep who listen to insipid drivel like what you wrote, tell me about Dirt Rides 200 hour tear down, where it needed ONE valve adjusted in 200 hours, which included regular racing in GP's and a 24 hour race. Also, the rest of the engine was in super shape, unlike the KTM 525 which needed valves and bottom end work.(still not bad for 200 HARD hours).
What do you expect, 600 hours and nothing as far as top-end maintenance goes, with 50 hp engines with 12:1 compression and 10,000 rpm ? I think I'm willing to pay that price, versus an outdated pig like a DRZ or an XR.
Back to the sheep. Yeah, you'll listen to the internet fools who write in with a post saying they need to shim their valves with 10 hours time on them (or less!) whatever, because they didn't set TDC right, yet their bike is running fine.If they can't figure that out I sure can't help them.
Take Churchills picture down, will you,and put up something more appropriate, like Pinochio. Doug
