It's not much of a power increase is the thing,it's slight one but it's top to bottom.. I think the JD dyno showed something along the lines of .5 to 1.0 hp increase and a corrosponding slight increase of torque, again top to bottom. And though not a big increase, when it's top to bottom you can feel that.
It's easier to start, hot or cold.
Speaking of tight single track, one of the things good jetting does is your motor runs cooler, and is a lot more resistant to stalling than the stock, too lean set-up is.
The power also comes on smoother and more predictably, another thing important in any kind of riding.
The JD kit is a winner,do a search for posts on all the people who have installed it and see for yourself. Doug

just thought I would add that the improvements stay in line with your current power delivery, just improve performance. This bike isn't ever going to get a 2 stroke "hit the pipe" type change, if that is the question relative to tight, single track terrain.

O.K. I have given my thanks to you guys for the help and I did omit the driving force behind my dwindling bank account and that is the assistance and mechanical genius of my step dad Jeff. This is the guy who is for all intensive purposes the family pit crew. Thanks to him and mom I ride the 450X and have now joined those who are continually propted to spend more and more on those parts that make the machine go faster dig harder and corner quicker. I regret that I omitted the family pit crew as I do take them for granted which sould not be the case. For those of you who owe your riding career to your folks please do not make the same mistake I have by omitting those family members that have and continue to help you in your endevours. Kudos to the support crew we call family.
    Where did they go boss?
