    Milky fork oil??

    by wild.coast » Thu Nov 11, 2021 7:14 pm

Was changing the oil on our CRF250Ls, for one of the bikes the oil was cloudy/dirty looking but still just looked like red oil, while my bike the fork oil was all milky?!! Is that just water mixed with the oil or something else??

I think the Honda OEM fork oil is supposed to be red, but probably not like this...

Is my 2nd fork done for? I was initially just gonna replace the oil, but I'm assuming I should probably take the whole thing apart and do a full service/clean...

First I recommend a full service and clean anytime you service suspension. Might as well do it right if you're going to do it.
You may have had some moisture ingress from a seal or even condensation. High-pressure washing can push water past seals.
Do a full cleaning and service and go.
