Crankcase really hard to pull...what to do?

I have a 2005 crf80f. I guess its first time crankcase opening ( because the bike have been abandon for many years). Anyway after taking out the crankcase bolts, this cover sitting so thight!!! Ive try tapping gently on it like they said in the book....but is there some tricks to get this cover off? Thanks for your tips..

Are you talking splitting the actual case halves , or are you talking the ignition cover ?? , there are dowels in a couple spots , and most likely they are what is making it feel "stuck" ....are you using a rubber/plastic mallet ??? , they tend to do the least damage but allow a firmer hit , but basically , yea , you just go around tapping , but don't hit directly on the seam , try hitting like a swipe , so you are basically using the hammer hit to swipe the case and push it away from the other .... so right at the seam or a little in , hit at a angle so the hammer slides (again using a plastic or rubber mallet) , hitting close to the seam but to the outside of the case , so like your trying to spread the case without digging into it ... almost like you were grabbing the case halves and pulling them apart with your hands , except using a mallet ... Follow ??
