JimDirt thanks for the help I was thinking the same thing about just getting an oem caliper and I think I’ll need an oem rotor too because this has an aftermarket rotor as well with a homemade bracket for the caliperThanks for the pic , yea that is definitely not a CRF pad ...... on a related note , when you post a link from IMGUR , look for the one that says "BBCode for Message Boards and Forums" , as shown in the pic below , as it will give a direct link to embed the picture in your post
it will look like this in your post [img]https:/ /i.imgur.com/HnPmgXU.jpg[/img]
But show up like this
But to answer your question , I think you will end up having to contact Braking , and submit a part # and ask them what exactly that caliper fits , because it should use OEM pads if it is for your bike ..... I think someone had one laying around and adapted it or just hoped for the best and installed it , not sure I would want that on my bike if it was not made for it ....you might be better off getting a OEM caliper from EBay or something .....
Great info I will check that out! It’s a supermoto build so I’d like good front brakes for the street but I’m sure the stock setup would be sufficient for my style of ridingYea , especially if it is oversize ...... I guess the question is , if it is oversize , are you in actual need of it ?? , if you are casual riding , then all you need is the oem stuff , , again , EBay would net you all the stuff you need and if you look at the adds , some will include all the hardware necessary including bolts , lines , etc. I have even track ridden my 450X and the OEM stuff will stop the bike just fine ... my 2020 450R has a (OEM) oversize front rotor , and to be honest , it is waaaay too much brake , I lightly touch it with 1 finger and it wants to stop so fast it feels like you are going to go over the bars (seriously) , I would much rather have a older front brake on mine .... if I was doing 100 mph and needed to stop fast , that brake is great , but I will never use it to its capacity .... ever ....
You could probably get a complete setup on EBay for around $50.00 or so , rotor , caliper, mount , bolts , brake line ... , then you are set , you will just need to bolt it up , bleed it and go ....or stop as the case may be .... That is what I would do .... as it is obvious the setup you have is not correct for your bike anyway ....
