    Honda CRF70 - Bogging Down..ugh

    by Viking79 » Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:14 pm

Hey everyone. My father in law gifted me a Honda CRF70 recently \:D/ I don’t often get this lucky, but I’ll take it!

Thing is, it’s been bogging down on me after I give it a bit of a run. I just cleaned out the carburetor, which improved performance, but it’s still bogging down. I was going to drain the fuel and change the oil for good measure.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have any tips on how I can get it running like a champ?

Hi Viking 79 and welcome to the site.
A good service often cures many ills, think plug and airfilter as well.
Replacing the old fuel in the tank and flushing it with fresh fuel and cleaning the carby can do wonders.

Does it start and idle normally?
Remember they are fitted with a basic carby with no accelerator pump so you have to roll the throttle on rather than snap it open.

If the above doesn't cure your problems jump back on and give us all an update.
Let us know if all is good as well.

Hi Ray, thanks for your response. I'll be draining the fuel today and replacing it to see if that helps, and I'll give the air filter a bit more of a cleaning. I cleaned the carb as clean as can be. Might as well change the oil today too.
