2007 CRF150F Fuel Overflow Trouble Shoot

    by PatCrash » Tue Jan 29, 2019 12:59 pm

First post—thank you for having me here!

Just picked up a 2007 Honda CRF150F. This weekend, fuel shot out of the overflow 2 separate occasions (after the same rider rode into the staging area). 2 other riders rode the bike and this did not happen. I did find out that the 2nd time, the bike had been laid down about 5 minutes prior. Wondering if it is the fact that it was laid down, or if it's more likely to be a float issue? Thank you.

It's not at all uncommon for a carburetor to "spill" fuel out of the over flow tubes after any actions that put the carb in a position other than horizontal. Fuel in the float bowl has to go somewhere if the angles have changed and the fuel is above the float level in the bowl. Over jumps, bike on its side ect...

No biggie - if you ride behind a fast aggressive rider you will see fuel dribble on whoops and jumps frequently.

Worry more about why the rider was on his side than the fuel over flow. :D
