    Head/Cam identification marks!!

Sorry new to this so have just realised I posted in wrong section

    Hi
New to this forum but hoping someone can assist with an issue, I purchased a 2009 CRF250R over a year ago, after a few rides it locked up, turn our a part of the cam had broken off and dropped down into the cam chain and jammed it. rebuilt the bike but the cam chain jamming seemed to have spun the cam gear so it no longer times up. purchased new Honda cam for 2009 CRF but it seems the cam lobes are about 1mm taller at their high point. Just wondered if there is any markings either on the head or cams that identify what year as we suspect it may have had a head change, several years seem to have the same part but we have tried a 2006, 2009 and 2010 and none of those work without the valves kissing the piston. Help greatly appreciated as a simple part number or ID mark would enable us to get the correct cam

Nothing on the cam or the head to ID them. I can visually identify the head via the ports. The cam is something you'd have to measure and compare.
