The first thing i would check is the wiring for the Stator you swapped to make sure it is wired correctly , its easy to cross a wire if its wired with separate plug ins , i would also check the ground to the coil, as i can't see any reason to get shocked unless it was a bad ground issue , even then , i would find it hard to get it to spark without a ground , were you grabbing the plug wire without the spark plug boot on ?? , i can't imagine how you are getting shocked , so more info is needed with that issue
But i would start double checking the wiring connections with the stator and make sure every wire is plugged into its correct counterpart and you don't have a wire crossed somewhere .....Have you contacted the place you got the stator from to seek any help from them as to wiring or spark issues ??
