    Clutch plates sticking?

    by GottaFord11 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:10 pm

So I have a 2004 CRF 150R, and I seem to have issues with the clutch plates sticking together when the bike sits for a few months, even in a heated garage. Is that fairly normal? When i first bought the bike, I rebuilt the whole clutch and measured all the plates and springs to be sure they were in spec and used new oil. I had some slight grooving in the outer clutch basket so I removed it and smoothed them out carefully with a file and it worked fine after that. But when i brought the bike out this last weekend just to run it, i had a terrible time getting it into first gear without it stalling. Any ideas?
    Thanks

likely the basket. once it is grooved it should be replaced.
