    CRF450r 2009-2012 exhaust

    by jellyhead » Sat Aug 17, 2013 2:56 pm

    Will a CRF450r full exhaust system 2009-12 fit a CRF450x 2011?

    Thanks

Welcome to CRF's Only. Not even close to a fit. remember the '09-12 450R has the exhaust port on the other side of the head.

Hi, thanks very much for the reply. Are there any years of CRFr's that are the same as the x's?

Why not get one that is specifically built for the X? There are many good headers and mufflers for the X.

I have a standard crf450x which does not rev to its limit so after reading a few threads, it seems like it needs re-jetting, new exhaust and open up the air filter. Is that what you would recommend?

yes, opening up the air box, free flowing air filter, jd jetting kit, free flowing exhaust will help. however, this will only take you so far and then the cam grind, head and ignition will limit yours from reving "like" a 450R (if that's your goal). drop in a R cam and do the pink wire mod in addition to the other mods and it will help on the top end. you can also switch to a R head when the time comes for valve or head work.
