Transmission Fluid Leak - can't tell where from

    by quema » Tue Apr 23, 2013 6:14 pm

Hi - new to the forum, but not to bikes. Tried searching, but couldn't find anything on this.

I am looking at buying a 2006 CRF 450 X. The bike is cherry, low hours/miles. It does have a slight transmission leak and I can't see where it is coming from, the whole engine is extremely clean, only a little tinny bit of gunk near the sprocket.

Is there a common area these leak from? Could it be near the shaft the front sprocket is on? (the only place I saw any gunk at all).

    Thanks!
