    pivot point maintenance

    by wesk » Fri Apr 19, 2013 4:21 pm

I recently picked up a wrecked CRF250r. I wanted spare suspension and wheels (ice riding = fun). In the knock down, I ran into great difficulty in removing the swingarm (honestly, its still there) and the rear axle. Got me thinking that, from time to time, it would be good maintenance to pull these things apart and give them a little TLC. Particularly since the bike gets wet from time to time.

So, enough of the preamble. Here's the question.

Should these pieces be installed dry, greased or with anti-seize?

Other ideas will certainly be entertained as well.

    Cheers,

Yes you should take all your pivot points apart on your bike cleain and pack the bearings with a water proof grease. Anything that moves needs to be cared for.
I do at least once a year depending on how much I ride.
