    10 CRF250R Noise

    by Destero » Mon Mar 12, 2012 6:48 pm

    Hey,

I recently bought a 2010 crf250r, this is my first bike and I don't know if it was there when I bought the bike or if I only just noticed it towards the end of my ride on the weekend. Either way I don't know if it is normal or not so I thought I would post up here and get some opinions on it to decide if it is worth the 2 hour drive to take it back to where I bought it from for them to check it out.

I don't know if it is just the normal valve sound or a cam chain rattling. Any ideas?

welcome to CRF's Only! i wasn't able to get the video to play. page didn't time out or fail to load i just never go to the video. so, i can't speak to the video directly. however, depending on what your point of reference is for "normal" engine noise the CRF's can make you think there is an issue. there valve train noise, with the high performance unicam, being out in the open with only a thin cover to reduce the sound can be noisy. pull the valve cover and inspect the cam, cam chain, etc. if the bike is starting well, running strong and you've replaced the oils and there's no signs of oil being used you are likely just hearing normal CRF valve train noise.

    again, welcome!

Check the fuel filter inside the gas tank.
Clean it well it sounds like your 10 is running lean
