    I was turning the flywheel trying to torque the nut when i heard a popping noise coming from the valves. I thought it was the valves making the noise but then relized it was the decompressor making the noise after it hit the rocker arm. Is this normal and I just never noticed it before or is something wrong?

    welcome to CRF's Only! the auto decomp will make some noise and this is normal. excessive noise is not. if it's excessive then inspect it.
