    by Nstyle » Sun Dec 25, 2011 6:10 pm

Hey guys.. I have a problem with my bike that every time I start it almost 30 seconds after the header starts to glow very brightly.. It was 40 degrees when I did it..but it's been doing that all winter..could it be running leen from the cold air?

that can lean it out so you'll need to richen the pilot circuit up at least. also, don't let it idle for long on the stand. needs air flowing through the radiators to keep from overheating.

fuel screw is on the bottom of the carb (float bowl) area. in the photo below it's the brass screw (yours may be a different screw but in the same location)

    setting the fuel screw mixture-

adjust the fuel screw when the motor is at full operating temperature. turning the fuel screw inwards until the idle slows or runs rough, then turn outwards 1 1/4 turns from this position. For example, if the idle slows or runs rough at 1/2 turn from closed, then set the fuel screw to 1 3/4 turns out (1/2 + 1 1/4 = 1 3/4).

    hope this helps.
