CRF-450R

so ive been ridin my dads old '03 450r which is pretty much gonna be my main bike from now on, and ive taken it through some semi-rough single track and was just wonderin about some tips and techniques to help get through it faster and without the constant stall

Welcome to the site Smitty. You've come to the right place.
Turn up the idle, learn to feather the clutch, and maybe change the countershaft sprocket down a tooth or up some on the rear. The ratio is about 1 tooth in front equals about 3 in the rear.
If you are going to be doing single track a lot, get an X. Your life will be WAY better. Ask IN2DEEP!
You can get some tips on dialing in your suspension as well.
Your biggest issue is that the 1st gear in the R is tall. Great for moto starts, but not so good in the tight.

thanks ill definately take that all in gettin and X tho i dont kno, my dad let me ride his '05 X and i loved it but i still really like the R, we took the front sprocket from a 15 to a 12 and that really helped alot

We took it from 13 to 12. I noticed 1st to still be kinda tall and 5th way too short when we exchanged bikes for a bit.

oh alright i was pretty sure u said 15 when we changed it no biggie, and i didnt get into 5th, the only real problem i was havin was with 2nd bogging when i started to get up to speed
