Jumps / Woops...

Searched the forum, but just can't seem to find info...

I recently moved from a 230 to a 450r. I felt very comfy with jumps and woops on the 230. I thought i had pretty good form and was able to do okay.

I try to apply my same form (to the same jumps and woops) and it seems that I am constantly doing nose dives off everything. I have tried changing body position, bike speed, etc. I only have about 5 hours on the 450, but I feel like I have digressed. Not looking for the crystal ball answer, but need a little advice on what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks.

I believe the most common cause of your problem is from letting off the throttle as you approach the lip of the jump. you should maintain an even throttle position as you launch or the bike will react adversely. Let off too soon cause the front to carry low accelerate at the lip and the front will want to sky. Suspension set up may also cause some minor side effect as well set the sag and if familiar with suspension tune to your liking

Tried your suggestions and I see improvement. I think I was/am letting off the throttle. Jumping this 450 compared to the 230 scares the bejesus out of me. When you give this thing throttle...IT GOES! I got some distance and some decent landings this past weekend. Still need plenty of practice, but I think it will come along.

Thanks.

I agree with you guys, its you letting off the gas.
Now this is not meant to offend you but it is constructive criticism. You went from a 230 to a 450r which is a huge jump!!!! but then again i went from a cr 85 to a 450 so i think a huge jump is a good thing. I think just from the way you talk, it seems that you are not " scared"
(i know ive had my bike for a while and raced it once, and im still scard of it) but i guess you are alittle cautios to hurl this thing throught the air, and you belive giving more throttle be4 the jump will make you rocket because as you said " . When you give this thing throttle...IT GOES!" So i think you shouldent be as worried about getting over the whops nice, but this hump in the road that makes you really catious on your new toy.
Ride that red rocket, and ride it hard
