Whip?

I was at the track getting some practice laps in, and I saw some -A Class riders doing whips by using the heel and inside of their foot to push on the side panel and throw the bike sideways. I'm sorry if this is hard to understand, its easier done than said I guess.
My question is, how do they keep the plastics from getting scratched? A special coating? Special boots?

i doubt they are worried about scratching plastics, if your riding track youve already acepted that your bikes gonna get thrashed. theres no granny riding on a track, i suggest you get out there and giver a go!!!

I see your point, but when I walk through the pits, these guys bikes are almost perfect. I mean, there are normal scratches here and there, but other than that, they're perfect.

you can buy replacement plastics and graphic kits for a reasnoble price especially if your sponsored by a local shop. if your plastics start to get tired, hop on ebay and grab some new ones, itll make your bike look brand new.

Ok, thats what I'll do. I went out to a track for an hour today, and I did 4 whips like that, and my plasics were ruined. I had scratches all through my numbers.
Thanks for the help!

Just an idea....
When I bought the new plastics for my bike and while back (which were all white) I placed white vynil sticker material over all of the platics, if done properly you can't even see the vynil...then when they get all scratched up...peel off and replace with some new vynil.
