gotta get back on the bike, regardless of weather/conditions. If you don't, it will become another hobby that you took up then quit, bike sitting in the garage till a neighbor asks you to sell it to him. The longer you go without riding, the more you think about what happened/what could have happened, the less likely you are to ever ride it again.

You're right. I really am waiting for the ground to dry up but I'm also very aware of the temptation to quit. So I will be riding again--I promise--and will ride through the spring and summer for sure.

    Hope you are all well!

I agree with EV on that one! What is tempting about not riding? Even if I only ride for a half hour it is like therapy! Recently got my 5 year old twin daughters each a new 2004 CRF50 for their birthday and they love it. All I have to do is mention going for a ride and they are grabbing their gear and getting ready to ride! They suprised me with a 2005 CRF150 (with the help of mommy) at their party so we can all ride together after they get more experienced. Got the training wheels on and they are learning quickly. Over the years, I to have had the ocassional crash even have broken my leg not once but twice in my younger days and still would not stop riding for the world! Hang in there!! You'll miss it if you stop!

I guess that was an odd way to put it, eh? I just need to get on the "horse" again and remind myself how fun it is...

I hope you are getting better. I wish mine was a chainlink fence. I took out a concrete road divider with a FZR1000....not a pretty picture.

Yikes! Yes, at least the fence had some "give" in it. Whew. I hope you're okay after that one, EWP Zoul...

    Hi, Ev,

Yes, I did and plan to go again this weekend. A little chicken at the very beginning but back to normal by the end of the ride. I keep thinking about getting a lighter, shorter bike instead of the 230 to increase my sense of control and confidence...but hate to "trade down" as it were :>)

Anyway, I'm back on the bike and enjoying riding again.

    whatever you do, Barbara
pleace think more than twice before you get smaller wheels
you will loose a lot of 'flow', every little obsticle on the trail will deflect you ...
but good to hear that you are back with us

    Ev,

I was wondering how much difference wheel size would make... one of the things I really like about the 230 is how solid-feeling and smooth-riding it is and I wouldn't want to sacrifice that.

Guess I'll just have to work on skills--instead of switching bikes--to increase my riding confidence :>)

find someone on a bike with small wheels an swap for a loop or two
    find out for yourself
what you yourself experienced is worth so much more than all advice from other people
