never really considered my little CRF a thumper :?
to me THUMPER indicates the sound of rolling thunder
but now, finally, I have a real stump puller again :D
a heavy, tall, tourquy piece of cast iron

part of a conversation on another forum:
...
had a lot of fun riding Pauls XR650L refreshed old-old memories, almost forgot how much fun these rhinos are, and why I ride the way I do (toooo far back ...)
...
now, that I had the chance to refresh my memory, I definitely want to have "one of these rhinos" again
they can do things no high-tech mx bike can
...
make me laugh while riding
let me ride with my butt behind the taillight
follow the Bears Fazer on road
take me to Alaska
make you guys roll your eyes in disbelieve, because you do not understand fun is more important than speed or trophies

i understand...heck, i still have my xr400 and love riding it in certain situations. i've also ridden, but not owned, 600 and 650 and they are a ton of fun.

so, the answer to your question is yes and yes, yes you are crazy and yes i understand ;)

I have not read enough of your post to say you are crazy. A little off center maybe but not crazy.

I have a friend of mine that has a XR650L he would like to sell. No room in the garge is his excuse. I think it is because his son is getting old enough to ask if he can take it for a spin. I think pop don't want to take a chance for the bike to get damaged. It's a late 80's model and still runs and looks good for it's age.

If it puts a smile on your face..........Ride IT!

We are in the low 40's on Gold Wings. GeezerCycle, CouchRocket, Geritol Bike, Dairy Queen taxi.....we have heard them all. At 1832cc's and fuel injected they will get you down the road in a hurry and corner just as fast if you ain't scared! We have a smile no matter what we are on as long as it's two wheels.
