i went to the track today. you can only imagine what happened. but i will tell you anyways.

1. arrive at the track.
2. look all big and bad.
3. unload my bike (looking big and bad.)
4. let bike warm while putting protection on.
5. jump on bike and take off (while looking big and bad.)
6. go around first turn.
7. into a whoops section.
8. let kid pass me on a 65.
9. see kid get good air on tabletop.
10. gas and shift into second.
11. hit jump like i would a set of whoops (butt near fender).
12. do a wheelie in the air somehow.
13. knowing i wont land (safely), i let go...
14. come down hard right smack on my bottom.
15. want to cry but gotta look big and bad.
16. pick up bike and do a quick inspection.
17. big dent in pipe.
18. rear fender bent and 3 different creases.
19. ride up to the truck.
20. pack up (whining), and go home.

Turns up i...

1. am not that big and bad.
2. am not quite so used to my 250.
3. am going to stick with sand and trails.
4. need a new pipe.
5. need a new back fender (and some sense).

great story hondafan! we've all been there at some point in our riding experience. don't let it get you down. get back out there and keep working at it.

whatever you do...don't give up on track riding ...work on all riding disiplines and you'll get better at each because of the skills you develop in the other disiplines. besides it's more fun to be able to ride anywhere and have confidence. last bit of advice...don't worry about going fast right now or jumping everything on the track...just work on a few things and learn the fundamentals and the speed will follow.

good luck....

hondafan, sounds like it could have been a lot worse, it's a hard lesson learned but don't quit. That's the joy of our sport is pushing yourself to go further.
