    Good by old friend

by Old Dude » Sun Dec 02, 2007 6:37 pm

      Gotta sell one of my other toys. My son drove it today for the first time and is almost as broken up about having to get rid of it as I am. If it has to go I'd like it to go to a good home. Check it out.

The LS1 is 5.7 (348 cu in) about 310 claimed hp from the factory @ 5200 rpm and 340 ft/lbs of torque @ 4000 rpm. 0-60 mph in 5.5 sec. 13.8 1/4 mile @ 105mph The one for sale I would venture to guess tops these figures. (5.7 L=348ci : 2.8L= 171ci) Zippy, I got your zippy covered..... Zippy

No chevy will ever beet the 1.9 0-60 set by a FORD Boss mustang. It was a V-8 10 liter and faster than hell.

Apples and oranges. You are right. That Mustang was brutally fast. For it time, probably the FASTEST. As I remember them, most muscle cars of that era were faster than those of today. But I got power windows and a CD player. Your Mustang had window cranks. (ask your Dad what a window crank is and ask him about the quality of that Pioneer 8 track while your at it :)

....and 7 Liter V8. But that goes along with that 6 inch over estimation thing. This will help with your figures woodsman. http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/volume.php
Don't get me wrong, I agree with your statement about the Mustang but the figures ..... well that 6" thing again

Obviously a misprint on a forum. Check the records, then check reality...
