Does anyone use one of these? I'm thinking of getting one to haul my CRF450 about 700 miles out to the sand dunes. Advice - warning -suggestions? Does the fenders hang over the edge of the SUV and cause drag?

I would recommend a enclosed trailer. This way, you can lock up your bike and all your gear inside. This way if you stay at a hotel or have to leave your truck, everything is hidden away. I had a friend weld up a 30 gal. stainless steel water tank to fit up under the frame for my pressure washer! You can buy a small trailer that a car can pull cheap. Or a used one cheaper. If you live anywhere near Elkhart, Indiana, you can buy straight from the factory.

I'll end up getting an enclosed trailer once I buy a sand rail. I'd rather not tow a trailer since I'll be driving 700 miles and will be able to drive faster if using a hitch hauler. I wanted to get first hand knowledge from someone on how they work.

Buddy Lee Hey I am kinda looking for one for my bronco. can haul your bike and still drive faster than you could with a trailer. my bronco Is my motor home.My buddy has one that carries two bikes and he hasn't had any trouble just make sure everything is in good shape. 700 miles to the sand dunes from Huntington?

I have one and it works great. I did have to get a hitch stabilizer to reduce the side to side wobble. I got mine on ebay for $179. I spent $22 for the stabilizer.

Kevin - what type of truck/suv you putting this on? Does the front and rear fenders stick out the sides? Do they bend in the wind? I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and simply worried about it - i should just buy the freaking thing and stop making these posts.

I've seen these things crack pretty bad from the side to side movement, I'd get a little flat bed trailer, you can get one for around 350 new or maybe cheaper used. My buddies had cracked and he didn't know it for a long time, had to take to the welder to get it fixed. I wouldn't put a 6 thousand dollar bike on a 200 dollar bike carrier, maybe an 80

I love it 'cause it's easy for me to load my bike when I go by myself.

We also use it in Baja for picking broken down bikes up and have carried my husband's bike home to Canada from Baja so it's definitely not flimsy.

Have you heard of the Dunes in St. Anthony Idaho....very sick and probably only a 4 hr drive for you...check em out!

I want a hitch hauler too. My friend made one and it's bomber.

I checked out the MotoJack and I think it is a great idea for any bike that you still have access to the frame on. But if you have a wrap around bash guard there is no way to use it. I have a tilt ramp hitch hauler. If I were to buy another, I would buy one that has tie downs at each end for four point tie down. I only have two and I'm always worried that just one of the straps will slip and I'll lose the bike. Mine has a side to side sway inhibitor built in and the unit works fine for a CRF 230.

For the guy that just moved to Utah, the whole state was made for dirt bikers. I have ridden most of it and there is a great variety of choices. You have plenty of sand dunes, desert, canyons,and slick rock in Moab and Green River.

I bought the "motojackrack" almost a year ago and I love it. The bike is very secure and can be locked to the rack on the truck.
It has all of the advantages, it is light and easy to use, loads and unloads quickly. I still have access to the back of the truck with the campershell on and the bike in the loaded position.
Like I said, I love it.
