CRF70 won't run with choke off

    by day_timer_01 » Mon Apr 18, 2011 7:26 am

Just bought a 2005 CRF70, runs great with choke on, but once you turn it off it dies. It does have an after market baffle on it. Also, how do you change the air filter, do you have to put air filter oil on it? Thanks for the help.

Pilot jet/circuit in the carb is probably clogged. Give the carb a good cleaning and make sure to clear the jets.

I would recommend purchasing/obtaining an owners manual and/or service manual. The answers can be found with a little reading. Manuals are something every bike owner should have.

Thank you. Do you know how many turns the idle and air/fuel screw should be turned out after I clean the carb.? The only modification to the bike is a after market baffle, not sure which one.

YES! you need to change the air filter and put oil on it. Otherwise dirt will get into your engine and cause a very expensive fix!
