not much twist on the throttle

This may be a commonly asked question but I searched and didn't find the answer, maybe I'm not using the right words? I got an '07 CRF50 for my boy and it seems like the throttle throw is REALLY short. It goes from fully closed to fully open in about 1/8th of a twist of the grip. Is that normal for these bikes? I bought it "newish", but it was a demo that had been used on a tot track at a bike expo so it could have been messed with. I've got manual ordered, but I'm hoping for some quick info so I can get him on it with confidence. It seems it'd be difficult to modulate the throttle much with such a short throw. Yes, I did adjust the limiter to fully open.

Not normal. Check to make sure somebody didn't put a tube or shims on the cable by the slide. Should be able to tell what is going on by pulling the slide and working the throttle.

O-weel, guess I picked up an old thread, But it sure sounds like he went the wrong way on the throttle stop.

If you remove the throttle stop altogether, you will know if that is what is causing trouble.
