Clutch conversion

It looks like my son will be riding the 70F for a few more years. So, I wanted to teach him how to ride with a manual clutch. Has anyone else done this conversion? There is a full set-up I found that isn't too expensive.

Haven't tried it. Where did you find the conversion?

Hey, that looks great and it's not that expensive. After my Grandson figures out shifting, we may try that.

That's what I was thinking. My son has really picked up shifting quite well, but I want him to see the benefits of having a clutch now. If I decide to go for it I will post the results here.

I have that kit on my 50... its nice but i would suggest to go with Honda Trail Bikes kit. It's cheaper and the gear ratio is better on it. they give you a larger primary and secondary drive gear which makes first more usable. I made that mistake and wish I didn't. here is the link...

We bought some mods from Honda Trailbikes.com for the 70. Very happy with them. Haven't done the clutch mod, but thinking about it.

Any new info on this mod.? I'm thinking about it on my sons 50. Is it something a shadetree mechanic can handle?

How is the gearing on this kit? How long does the installation take and do I need any special tools?
In my opinion the worst thing Honda did to these bikes was putting a 3 speed transmission in it. The 4 speed was much better.
